Curtain Call Color Challenge {Act 32}

It's a nice citrusy theme this week at Curtain Call! Feels like a nice cool lemonadde to me! Thats why I pulled out this stamp from Tart and Tangy!

To give my citrus a sugar coated feel, I used Versa Mark and some Iridescent Ice embossing powder. Makes my cheeks tingle... you know, that part that tingles when you eat something sour!! LOL!

I used my crimper to get this texture. I ran the paper both ways throught the crimper several times. It give it a "plaid" crimped pattern. And, it breaks down the paper fiber to make it look a little worn. I kind of curled up the scallops too.

And, I made a mistake when I stamped sweet. So, I restamped it on another piece of Kraft and punched it out and popped it up a little over my mistake. It turned out way more interesting than just a plain stamp! Don't you love it when that happens??

I {Heart} Kraft!

I've said it beofre and I'll say it again; I LOVE Kraft. I don't know why, but maybe it's because of the rustic, vintage vibe it has. So, I loved this week's challenge at Stampin Celebration. I ADORE the menu picture at the top. I used it to come up with today's card. I also used it to come up with another card you will see later this week...

I recently purchased the Wood Grain background stamp and I love it. It's so much fun and can produce so many different combos. I used it here with Melon Mambo ink on Kraft cardstock. And what do you think of those gromits? They are lots of fun! But, I highly recomend you measure and mark before you punch. Don't look closely at mine because I didn't take my own advice!

It's "Sew" True! Fabric is easy to use!

I did it! I bought some fabric and used it in my Big Shot! I've been seeing it everywhere online and I just thought "Eh, whats the big deal??" Well, then I needed a gift for someone who helps me at school. So, I ran out, bought some cute fabric, watched a "Rag Quilt Purse" tutorial online and knocked this out yesterday morning!

It is VERY simple. You use your Big Shot and cut all the scallop squares. Then its alot of pinning and sewing and suddenly, you have a bag! It is a bit small. I wish I had added some more sqaures. Next time...

The inside is just as cute as the outside. It has a little hard canvas piece on the bottom so that it will stand up when you set it down.

So cute. And fun to make! Now I am obsessed and want to think of what else I can sew with the Big Shot!

And, just so you know how obsessed I was, I did this even though I had all three of my girls at, under and on the table as I sewed! Here is a new picture I took yesterday. Hopefully someday when they are older they will still be interested in sewing and crafting. I would love to teach them just like my mom taught me!

Mojo Monday... on Saturday!

I've never done the Mojo Monday sketch before, but gave it a try. It turned out great! I used some of my favorite images that I don't use enough! These little bots are so cute!

Curtain Call Color Challenge {Act 31}

I combined a color challenge from Curtain Call and a sketch challenge from Taylored Expressions for today's card.

I used a stamp set I hadn't used yet! It was a freebie during Sale A Bration and I just haven't used it yet. I am intimidated by coloring...

But, I stayed in the lines! LOL! Mom will be so proud!

Awash with Thank You!

I'm in need for lots of Thank You cards! I still have not written all my thank yous for teacher appreciation so I am working on making new Thank You cards to motivate myself! Today I used this great color scheme from Color Throwdown and a great sketch from The Sweetest Thing.

I drug out Awash with Flowers again. Its a preview set that will be available July 1 in the new Stampin' Up Catalog. I have not had much luck with it, but have seen some beautiful things on line, so I gave it another try!

I masked the Kraft CS with a dicut from my Big Shot called . I sprayed it with Log Cabin Smooch Spritz. Then, I peeled off the dicut to leave the negative image of the dicut. I like it, but my spryer was clogged and I was too lazy to fix it, so I got some blobs. But, overall, I think its OK.

Summer Green...

Today, I combined two challenges again. I used the sketch from Clean and Simple and the wonderful color combo from Embelish Magazine.

I layered a window sheet from the DSP Collection called Day and Night. It gives a nice shine and makes the card very classy looking. And of course my favorite Kraft is in there too. I ran it through the crimper a whole punch to loosen the paper fibers. Then I folded it and used glue dots to give that pleated look.

Graduation for one of my favorite Babysitters...

One of our very favorite babysitters is graduationg next week. We are so sad to see her go, but so proud to see her graduate! I took this week's colors at Stamp Away With Me to make her card. her school's colors are Blue and Gold, so it was perfect!

Purple! Purple! Purple?

This week's inspiration at Stampin Celebration is an image with lots of purple. I don't know why, but purple never works for me. I am never very happy with my results. BUT, I did give it a go and I like it!
I also used this simple sketch from Card Patterns.

I used my crimper alot. I crimped the So Saffron and Early Espresso pieces a bunch. Then I used my bone folder to smooth it back out and stretch it back to the right size.

First off, how do you like that header?? I have had this blog for 15 months and have not had a header! I kept saying, I was going to have one made, and just never did! So, I staged one! Its all things pink, just like my life with three girls! Plus, do you see the horseshoe? Thats because we are proud Texans. How about the Binky?? Yea, thats because I am never with out one! (Ever!) And a pink bow? Yea, we have those on at all times too! And all my favorite Stampin' supplies!What do you think???

On to the stamping...This week at Paper Pal Arts, the challenge was Day theme (PPA43). a Memorial I don't really have much stamp wise that would fit that bill, so I decided to go with a non traditional American theme and made a Thank You card for my dauters wonderful 1st grade teacher. She is a hero in our eyes! I also used the Mojo Monday sketch (MOJO139) as a guide.

I used some cork sheet as the strip behind the little sentiment piece. I don't know where I got that stuff, but I love it! I am going to be sad when its gone!

Color Throwdown #93

My inspiration today is from The Color Throwdown!

I CASED this from a Creating Keepsake Magazine last year. I adore this stamp set and really hope it sticks around in the new catalog!

I used the Scallop Square Sizzix Die and cut out but a chipboard shape and a piece of CS. I layered them to give the card some dimension.

Ugh! This card! I tried working on it all week. It sat there on my desk and I kept trying to come back to it, but everything I tried just didn't work... Ever happen to you? Oh well. I'm done. It will get thrown in the card box and will never resurface again probably...

I do like the little Margaritta. It has Crystal Effects to make it look wet. Don't look to close or you'll see the ripped CS where I kept removing and adding things.!!

Summer...Is that you???

While I made this card, my husband was outside cutting the grass. The scent of freshly mowed grass made its way into my scrap room, and it felt like the first days of summer! When I sat down to make this card, I had apostle no idea what I was going to do. When I smelt the grass and thought of summer, the ideas quickly started flowing!

I used this week's Color Q as my starting point.

I gave these little fruits a sugary coating of glitter!
