Hand Stamped Sentiments #120- Wearable Art!

It's Tuesday- Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge Day! Yay! We've got a very challenging one for you today! In fact, it was very hard for me! I spent a long time thinking and researching Pinterest for this one!

Wearable Art! Now, I've made many headbands and clips in the past, but I wanted to think of something different! And, I wanted to use fabric. There is some unbelievably cute fabric coming out in the new catalog (on Friday!) and I really want to use it even more than I have in the past. So, I came up with this Bitty Purse for my little girl!

I used the Beau Chateau Designer Fabric and THIS pattern.  I free handed it and realized too late that my handle was too fat. Oh well, it works! But, noted for next time!

The flower was made by twisting a strip of fabric on to a sticky piece of cardstock. The felt flower in the back was cut using the flower folds die and the Big Shot. Oh, and on a side note, while sewing it my five year old said "Mommy! Why are you sewing a diaper!?!?" HA! Yes, I guess it does kind of resemble a diaper. Leave it to Emma to always keep it real!

It was really simple to make. Maybe 30 minutes from start to finish. And, my sewing skills are pretty basic, so it's a little rough around the edges, but my 3 year old thought it was magnificent! She immediately filled it with little trinkets and treasures.

So, what kind of wearable art can you make? I'd love to see some more ideas for fabric! Please play along with us and come back and link up at Hand Stamped Sentiments!

Thanks for stopping by!

What a wonderful weekend!

Hey y'all! Happy Memorial day! I hope your long weekend has been as wonderful as mine! I decided to "take a few days off" from everything and I am so glad I did! Usually, our weekends are super busy. We run here and there and in between I am squeezing in Stampin' Up stuff. SO, sometimes, the weekend seems busier than the weekdays! So, I took Friday off to spend with the Littles on their field trip and we have had lots of family time the rest of the weekend. MUCH.NEEDED.

On Saturday morning, I held my Catalog Kick off Sneak Peek Party. Wow! What a huge turnout I had! Thank you to all my friends and customers who came by to grab their new catalog and to play with new goodies!

One of the cards we made was adapted from one in this month's Stampin Success (SU Demos get this awesome magazine once a month published by SU with tons of great ideas in it!) I wanted my customers to get their hands on the new in colors as well as some of the new DSP.

This is a very simple card that uses lots of stuff! Great for a workshop!
Stamps: Betsy's Blossoms, Word Play, Betsy's Blooms Wheel
Ink and Paper: Summer Starfruit, Raspberry Ripple, Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, Primrose Petals, Patio Party DSP, Floral District DSP, Comfort Cafe DSP (We used Stampin' Markers to color the word stamp)
Punches; 1 3/8" Circle, 1 " Circle, 1/2" Circle
White Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Basic Jewel

Now, just because I can't stop complaining about them on Facebook, I have to show you what has been "bugging" me for the last few weeks:
This is a a Katydid. And we are INFESTED with them. The "croak" all day long, but once it gets dark, it is deafening. I mean, outrageously so. Wakes me up at night it's so loud. And, this guy was sitting on the window when I took the card picture. At any given time, when I walk outside, there are 10-12 sitting on my porch. Awful!! Anybody else dealing with these right now??

I wanted to remind you that right now, you can join Stampin' Up and my team, the Sweet Stampede, for only $99! That is simply the best price SU has ever offered it. You get $190 worth of product and business materials! And, new this year, you pick ANYTHING you want from the catalog! WOW!

Product discount: Demonstrators get a 20 percent discount on all Stampin' Up! products, including stamp sets, paper, and accessories. It's a great way to support your love of stamping, paper or digital crafting, home d├ęcor - or whatever your passion may be!

That's the beauty of the demonstrator experience - it's all up to you! See the Compensation Table for more information. Learn more about the financial benefits of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.

Flexible schedule:This is your business, so you can put as much (or as little) time into it as you'd like!

Workshop ideas and audio and video trainings on all kinds of topics are available at your fingertips on our demonstrator website. Plus, you'll receive our monthly magazine just for demonstrators, which is full of informative tips and beautiful samples.

Ok, and last, I just want to share some photos from my fabulous family weekend:

We took the girls to the Medina River for a lazy day of swimming.

There was a giant tree over a section of the river. It made for a great jumping spot!

Mr. Fifty Shades ain't got nothin' on my man! ;-) Sill just as cute as the day I first laid eye on him in 10th grade..

A was a little nervous. The water was swift, but only about 12 inches deep. She eventually got used to it, but not until the very end of the day!

E was the bravest of them all. Fearless! Which, is not normally her style!

Daddy is the biggest kid of them all!

I even joined in the fun to prove that yes, in fact, Mommy can be fun sometimes too! LOL! (I can't believe I am posting this picture of me in my bathing suit! Promise to never blackmail me with it, alright!? LOL! Please pretend my legs are nice and tan and toned. Running 10 miles a week, and they still look like that! UHG!!)

There were many ropes across the small river, and the kids tried to make a zip line.. LOL! Didn't really work, but they had fun trying over and over again!

On Friday, I got to spend the day with The Littles on their field trip. So fun! We went to Morgan's Wonderland, which is a special needs amusement park. their preschool is an inclusion class, so we were able to go there. Normally, only families with special needs get to go, so this was a special privilege for my kids!

All in all I think I took 500 pictures this weekend! I've got scrapbook pages for months now!

Ok, if you made it to the end, I'm so glad you did! Thanks for being patient while I took a few days off. I missed Scrapbook Saturday again. Sorry! I'll make up for it, I promise!!

Have a great Memorial Day!

Friday Mashup #70

Good morning y'all! TGIF! I'm headed out on a field trip with my little ones today which means no work for me! Yay! That also means I have a 4 day weekend! Woot!

And, if it's Friday, it's another Friday Mash Up Challenge!
So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :
  1. Make a project for " That special Man in your life ".
  2. Or Make a project with the " Sketch ".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a " Masculine card using the above Sketch ".

OK, so another boy challenge for me! Yikes! But, I am so lovin' what I actually came up with!

I pulled out a bunch of stuff that is retiring for this card. This is my all time favorite alphabet stamp, so it's staying put on my shelf forever! It's called Vasrsity Alphabet.  I stamped it in Cajun Craze and then "kissed" it on the woodgrain stamp to give it some texture.

I also used the Woodgrain Background stamp for the background Soft Suede CS too. The football is on it's way out too. I stamped it on Early Espresso and Whisper White and then paper pieced it. I colored in the stitching with the White Uniball Pen {LOVE}.

DSP: Well Worn, First Edition
Cardstock:Cajun Craze, Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
Ribbon: More Mustard Scallop Dots
Big Shot, twine, 1/2" circle punch, Vintage Trinkets

OK, it's your turn! Can you handle the entire Mash Up or maybe just half? please come back and link up with us at The Friday Mash Up!

THAT Card...

Have you ever seen a project somewhere and you had to go and make it immediately? Well, today, this is THAT card for me. I saw THIS card over the weekend on Pinterest. Love. At. First. Sight.

So, I copied it, almost exactly. I just changed the supplies I used. All Stampin' Up of course!

The sun was created by inking the striped embossing folder with Daffodil Delight and running a 3" circle Daffodil Delight Cardstock through twice. The cloud was hand drawn with a Midnight Muse Stampin' Write Marker. All the DSP you see here is part of the upcoming catalog.

So, cute huh? It was pretty easy. Oh, and I did create the rays by scoring the smaller piece of DSP using the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate. I cut them apart and placed them on a piece of Whisper White.

Also, I wanted to announce a new Summer Stamp Camp! I can't wait! Please email me if you want to attend!

And, I also want to give you a heads up about all the new Shares that I will be offering beginning June 1! I know you can't see the pictures of these products just yet, but trust me!! You are going to want a piece of all of these!

Masculine!..... Masculine? HSS #119

Hi y'all! Ok, so you know it's Tuesday and that means it's time for another Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge! Yay! Well, this week, we've been challenge to make something Masculine!

I have three daughters, so my preference in creating pretty things usually involves pink. So, any kind of masculine challenge is always truly a challenge for me! And, I've done several recently. So, this weekend, when I started to work on this challenge, my MASCULINE creative juices had run dry!!

So, this is what I came up with ! Ha!! I like it! But, masculine?? I'm not sure...

I LOVED these mustaches when I first saw them last Summer in the new IBC. And, sadly, they are retiring. So, one more use out of them from me. Well, actually, I will be keeping this set for sure!! I  "MUSTACHE" you a question.... Can you ever have too many MUSTACHES! Ha!

Everything on here is either Daffodil Delight or Basic Black. The only new thing is the little stitched grosgrain ribbon. I do believe it will be my go to ribbon this year! I absolutely love it!

So, can you do better than me at the Masculine challenge? (It's not hard obviously!!) Show us what you can come up with and make sure you check out what the other amazing designers have come up with (none of which includes Daffodile Delight! What? Not very masculine??? Huh...)

Oh, and I fell in love with the challenges at Sweet Sunday Sketch and Dynamic Duos, so I got inspiration from them as well!
