Friday Mash Up Challenge 74

Hello everyone! Today at The Friday Mash Up we have another  fun challenge for you !

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge:
  1. Make a project with "Pleating".
  2. Or Make a "Baby Theme" project .
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a project with "Pleating and a Baby Theme".

I was excited to do this challenge because I needed a baby card for a friend who just adopted her second child. I was able to incorperate both parts of the challenge: baby and Paper Pleating!

I used a combination of stamps here; Perfectly preserved (I cut the jar down to be a baby food jar), Nursery Necessities and Embellished Events.
And, I once again googled Paper Pleating Tutorial and this time I was much happier with my results. (Last time I did this, I realized just how hard it really is!

Stamps: Nursery Necessities, Embellished Events, Perfectly Preserved
Ink and Paper: basic Grey, Raspberry Ripple, Floral District DSP, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink
Other: Big Shot, Canning Framelits, Apothecary Framelits, Natural Buttons, Simply Scored

Hop on over to The Friday Mashup and see what the other designers have created. Make sure to link up with us once you've created something as well!

Artisan Design Team Blog Hop Day 10

Well, here we are. the last day of the 2012 Artisan Blog Hop! I hope you have enjoyed it!

We want you to know that there is now an official Artisan Pinterest Board! You can follow the board and see everything in one place! Awesome! Check it out HERE!

So Cindy showed you her last, amazing project today. And, here is mine as well. I've saved the best for last!

I created this dress form from First Edition DSP and many, many other tools. I bought the paper mache body at a craft store and mounted it on a dowel and then on a wooden base, also bought at the craft store. I sat down one night and just started dressing her. I actually did the whole thing in one evening! I think out of all my projects, this was the easiest! It just flowed. Love that!

The bodice was made using the Doily Sizzlet and the Latice Die. The "cups" are Circle Scallops.
There are about 5-6 layers to the skirt. The bottom two layers were made with the accordion die.
I added vellum cardstock inside the bodice, crimped it all and then added Dazzling Details.
About 4-5 layers of lace pleats, several satin ribbon layers and a band of twill tape.
These were curled around a marker.

And every girl needs a pearl necklace for her best dress right? These are the Basic Jewels and White Twine.
The base had a "gift box" made from the Nugget Box. The "mirror" was flashing and Crystal Effects. The base and dowel were inked with a sponge and Soft Suede ink.

Sigh... I love her. I hope she is sitting on the desk of a SU concept artist somewhere and serving as inspiration.. LOL!

And there you have it! We also will be doing a Blog Hop the first Friday of every month showcasing that months facebook Project. Stay tuned here to see see the details! Or, just follow me on Facebook and know immediately!

Thanks so much for all the precious comments. You have no idea how much they mean to me. i read them all and feel the love! I hope I can continue to inspire you to be creative and, of course, to buy Stampin' Up products!

Now, your off to Heather Summers! Have fun!

Artisan Design Team Blog Hop Day 9

We're almost done with the Artisan Blog Hop! I hope you have enjoyed all of our blood, sweat and tears! LOL! It truly is a labor of love, and I can say I worked on mine for months!!

Im sure you enjoyed another one of Cindy Beach's projects. If you haven't been there, make sure you loop all the way around by following the button at the bottom of this post!

Today is my last of five cards. This was a last minute effort. I actually had my five cards done and I made this one just for fun. I decided I loved it more than one of the five, so I threw it in! This set is now retired, but I fell in love with it right at the end of last year! I made like 4 cards with it the month it retired! LOL!

All the stamped images are embossed. And, of course, I cut my ribbon long ways to create some fray.

OK, you're off to another beautiful creation by Heather Summers. Enjoy!

In case you'd like to follow all of the Artisan's this year, here are all of their GENERAL links. We will be postingmonthly projects for Stampin' Up. Hope you will join in the fun!

3 Cheers for You!! HSS #133

Hi everybody! I'm back! Last week, I dropped the ball on my challenge posts. Back to school is killing me! You'd think that after 15 years, it would be a breeze! Nope! This year has been the very hardest and I don't know why!

Anyhow, this week's HSS challenge is a FUN one. But, I do admit, it threw me for a loop! Pom Poms!!

I decided first to focus on the colors. I love my bright colors! I used this simple circle image from Circle Circus for the back ground.
The sentiment is from Happy Hour (Love this set!). The pin and the fabric are retired (SORRY!)  But, the ribbon is new, it is Gumball Green Satin Ribbon. And, next month you can get it FREE with a purchase. Stay tuned for details...
The pom pom flower was created by taking a strip of Tempting Turquoise cardstock, fringing it and then rolling it. I fluffed it a bunch and used Crystal Effects to attach it.

So, what says "pom poms" to you? Let us see your creations at Hand Stamped Sentiments.

Class To Go

Artisan Design Team Blog Hop Day 8

Hi everybody! We are nearing the end of the 2012 Artisan Blog Hop. I am loving everything everyone has shown! I am honored to be a part of such an amazing team!

You've probably just arrived from the ever talented Cyndi' Beach's blog. Fantastic, isn't she?

I decided late in the game, that I needed to create an all MDS project. I thought it was important to create products that showcase a broad selection of products. MDS is a huge component of the SU product collection and I love it! When I saw the Tuesday release of the Hexagon punch, I knew immediately what I was going to do!

I ended up adding a real button and twine to the page after I received it from printing. I love this page and am very proud of it. I hope it inspires you to use MDS more in your paper crafting!

Next, your off to Heather Summers again. Lovely projects every day! Love her MDS work. I have learned a bunch from her! I was taking her on line classes when I created this page in fact!

Artisan Design Team Blog Hop Day 7

Hello again! I am so glad you are still hopping along with us! You've probably just arrived from Cindy Beach's blog. Another amazing project!

This card was created when I received the Summer Smooches Suite last spring. I instantly fell in love with it because it is all BRIGHTS! Definitely my favorite color family.
I used lots of Dimensionals on this card. And I mean A LOT!!  The ribbon was the now retired Peach Parfait ribbon. I cut off the white edges and pulled the fibers out to create this bow. I love doing this to that ribbon. I miss that ribbon a bunch!

Lastly, I also sewed along the edges of this card. Have you ever machine stitched a card? It is super easy! Way easier that stitching material!

Ok, so on to your next stop! Heather Summers has another fun treat to show you today. I hope you enjoy it!

Artisan Design Team Blog Hop Day 6

Hello again! I am so glad you are still hopping along with us! You've probably just arrived from Cyndi Beach's blog. Another amazing project!

Today is Scrapbook Page #2. I LOVE this page! I mean, just look at the picture! It was so easy to go crazy on this page with a picture that cute!
The watermelons are all chipboard, cut in various size circles and the covered with Real red DSP. Lots of inking and sanding. Then, I cut several scallop circles to go behind them. The seed are tiny hearts from the Owl Punch!

This strip was created with the Mouthwatering set. I colored them with my Stampin Write Markers, stamped them on Whisper White and the embossed it int he big shot. The tiny seeds are the left overs from a punch.

The title is my favorite part!! Stamped and Die cut.

I hope you are enjoying your little adventure through our winning projects. I am loving seeing everyones stuff up close and in details as well. Next up is the very talented Heather Summers!
